If “The View” executives hopedRosie O’Donnell had mellowed in her seven years away from the show, they’re out of luck.
A source close to the show tells Confidenti@l that the host is just as fiery behind the scenes in her second time around as she was during the first.
We hear the co-host has been attempting to slash guests from the schedule and infuriating staffers with her unpredictable moods.
“When Rosie came back on the scene, she looked at the board of people that had been confirmed since July, and she literally started crossing people out,” said the insider. And while it’s been reported that O'Donnell loathes interviewing reality stars, her disdain extends to celebrities in other fields too. “She would be in a room with 40 people — production people — and just say, ‘I’m not talking to these people.’ ”

Whoopi (Goldberg) and the others (co-hosts Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace) don’t care who they talk to,” added the gossip.
A month in on her second tour, O’Donnell isn’t loosening her grip on the guest list. “She has these private, closed-door meetings with the ABC executives to push her agenda through on the kind of guests that she wants to have on the show,” said the source. The insider believes that the higher-ups take her input because of her star power and the shaky ratings. “They were really banking on her being the biggest name on the show and she was really going to help them get back on track,” they said.
Meanwhile, the staff are being tested by O'Donnell’s mercurial personality. “Rosie has been basically bipolar in the way that she interacts with the staff,” said the source, “You never quite know what kind of Rosie you’re getting on a daily basis. Some days she’s very calm and very easy-breezy, and other days she’s getting in people’s faces and kind of yelling at them,” our source snipes. “There’s no rhyme or reason to her behavior. It’s on a whim, or how she happens to be feeling that day.
